Solifi Data Migration: Moving Your Portfolio Without Losing It

How to plan a portfolio migration to Solifi, what to ask the vendor, and a readiness checklist.

What migration means

Migration is moving your data from the old system to the new one. For a lender, that means customers, contracts, payment histories, and balances. It is the riskiest part of any platform change.

Solifi has moved many portfolios, given its long history. But every migration is custom work. The vendor's experience does not remove your need to plan.

The numbers must tie out

After migration, your totals must match the old system to the penny. Total receivables, contract counts, and delinquency buckets must all tie. Tie-out means the numbers agree.

Ask the vendor how tie-out works. Ask who signs off. Ask what happens when a contract does not map cleanly.

What to ask Solifi

  • How many migrations from our current system have you done?
  • Is migration a fixed price or time and materials?
  • How many test migrations are included before the real one?
  • What is the rollback plan if go-live fails?
  • Who validates balances, us or you?

Start your readiness list now

You can start before you pick a vendor. Clean data migrates faster and cheaper. Use the checklist below to track the work.

The contracts that will not map

Every portfolio has odd contracts: weird payment schedules, old fee types, one-off amendments. These are the records that break migrations.

Ask the vendor how exceptions are handled, and ask for a written exception process before you sign. The answer tells you more than any project plan.
