Software Research Library
Equipment finance software, researched in plain English
We read the public product documentation for ten platforms used in equipment finance. Then we wrote down what each one is, who it fits, and what to ask in a demo. Based on public product documentation. We have not tested a private account.

Three kinds of software, three different jobs
Most confusion in this market comes from mixing up three categories. Know which job you are hiring for before you compare vendors.
Origination (the LOS)
Runs the path from application to funded deal: intake, credit, pricing, documents, approval. The software is called a loan origination system, or LOS.
Example: a broker emails an application for a $60,000 mini excavator. The LOS logs it, scores it, generates documents, and books it.
Servicing
Runs everything after booking: billing, payments, modifications, payoffs, and end-of-term. A servicing ledger tracks each contract for years.
Example: 300 invoices go out on the first of the month, a customer pays by ACH, and the payment posts to the right contract with correct accounting entries.
Broker CRM
Tracks relationships and deal flow: every broker, dealer, conversation, and open deal in one place. CRM means customer relationship management.
Example: you see every deal a broker ever sent, its stage, and its owner — and a portal where brokers submit the next one.
Some platforms cover one job. Some cover all three. The comparison table below shows each platform's primary role, and every review page says exactly where its scope starts and stops.

How to use this library
A fair way to pick software
No scores, no rankings, no paid placements. The right platform depends on your size, your deals, and your systems.
- 01
Read the review
Start with the platform's review page. Learn what it is and who it fits before any sales call.
- 02
Build your scope
Use the pricing guides to write your scope checklist. Every vendor should price the same job.
- 03
Run the same demo
Each page has demo questions. Ask every vendor the same ten tasks and write down the answers.
- 04
Compare real costs
Use the 3-year cost tool with numbers from written quotes. Include platform license layers like Microsoft or Salesforce.
