Credit tiers
How we sort files first.
These tiers are our own short labels. Each lender sets its own tiers. We map our labels to yours.
| Tier | Typical profile | Documents often asked | Lender interest |
|---|---|---|---|
| A tier | Strong credit. Business has a track record. | Often a short app. The lender may still ask for papers. | Varies by lender |
| B tier | Good credit with one soft spot. | Bank statements may be asked for. | Varies by lender |
| C tier | Thin or bruised credit. | More papers. A down payment may help. | Only when a partner confirms |
| D tier | Serious credit problems. | Strong offsetting facts are needed. | Only when a partner confirms |
Conditions we screen
Details that change where a file goes.
New vs used
Each lender sets its own limits on age, hours and condition.
Seller type
Dealer, private seller or auction. Rules on the last two vary by lender.
Time in business
Young firms need a lender that takes startups. A down payment may help.
Documents
Short app, bank statements, tax returns or full financials. Each lender decides.
Ticket size
Ticket size means the dollar amount of a deal. Small and large deals get reviewed very differently.
Geography
Some programs leave out certain states. We check first.
