What migration means
Migration moves your data from the old system to the new one: customers, contracts, balances, and payment histories. It is the riskiest part of any platform change.
LTi's long customer tenure suggests many customers migrated and stayed. That is inference from a vendor number, not proof. Ask for migration references directly.
Tie-out is the test
After the move, ASPIRE's totals must match your old system to the penny: receivables, contract counts, and delinquency buckets. This check is called tie-out.
Ask who signs off on tie-out, how many rounds are included, and how LTi handles a contract that does not map cleanly.
What to ask
- How many migrations from our current system have you done?
- Is migration fixed price or time and materials?
- How many test migrations are included?
- What is the rollback plan if go-live fails?
- Who validates balances, us or you?
Start now
Clean data moves faster and costs less. You can start cleanup before you choose a vendor. Track the work with the checklist below.
The contracts that will not map
Every book has odd contracts: seasonal schedules, legacy fee types, one-off amendments. These are the records that break migrations.
Ask how exceptions are handled and get the exception process in writing. Ask how many test migrations are included. Two full rehearsals should be the minimum.
