What good reporting answers
Useful reporting answers three questions. How is the book performing? Where is risk concentrating? What do your bank, investors, or auditors need to see?
LTi lists reporting among its capabilities. Test it with your real report list, not the vendor's demo reports.
Bring your own list
- Delinquency aging by bucket.
- Yield and effective rate by segment.
- Concentration by equipment type, state, and customer.
- Month-end accounting summary.
- Board or investor package.
The spreadsheet tax
Any report ASPIRE cannot produce becomes a monthly spreadsheet someone maintains by hand. Price that labor with the tool below, using your own volumes.
Test control, not just output
In the demo, ask to build one report yourself: pick fields, filter, save. If only LTi staff can build reports, each new report becomes a billable request, and that belongs in your cost model.
The drill-down test
Good reporting lets you trace any number to the contracts behind it. Ask the vendor to start at a portfolio total and drill to one contract's payment history.
If a simple drill-down needs a custom request, reporting is weaker than the demo suggests. Also ask how reports leave the system: spreadsheet, PDF, or API.
Ask how ASPIRE ages delinquency: from due date, from billing date, or something else. Systems count differently, and a wrong assumption makes your book look better or worse than it is.
Ask whether reports can be scheduled and emailed automatically. A report someone must remember to run is a report that eventually does not get run. Also ask who can build a new report: your team, or only the vendor.

Manual re-keying cost
Count how many records your team re-types each month and how long each takes. Loaded hourly cost means wage plus benefits and overhead.
| Hours per month | 10.0 |
| Labor value per month | $350 |
| Rekey labor + software per funded deal | $14.00 |
Cost per deal covers only re-keying labor plus the software line item. It is not a full origination cost.
