The short answer
LeaseWave was the name of Odessa's lease and loan platform. The company now sells under the Odessa name. When someone says LeaseWave, they usually mean Odessa.
Old contracts, resumes, and job ads still say LeaseWave. So do older articles and reviews.
Why it matters when you research
Search results mix the two names. A 2016 article about LeaseWave describes an older product generation. Check dates before you trust what you read.
If you are hiring, a resume that says LeaseWave is relevant Odessa experience. The concepts carry over even if the screens changed.
What to ask the vendor
- Is the current platform the same codebase as LeaseWave, or a rebuild?
- Can customers on older versions upgrade, and what does that cost?
- Which version would we be buying today?
Our method
This page is based on public product documentation and the vendor's own site. We have not tested a private account. We checked the sources on November 5, 2026.
If you are on LeaseWave today
Some lenders still run older LeaseWave versions. If that is you, the question is upgrade path, not just features.
Ask Odessa what an upgrade from your version costs and how long it takes. Ask whether your custom reports carry over. An upgrade can be cheaper than a full switch, but only if the path is real.
Upgrade path checks
- You know your current version and its support status.
- You asked for the upgrade price in writing.
- You asked which custom work carries over.
- You compared upgrade cost to a full platform switch.
